Bandia reserve

The Bandia Wildlife Reserve, reached within a couple of hours by car from Dakar, is a 3,500-hectare private nature reserve that has successfully reintroduced native animal species, many of which had previously disappeared due to poaching and habitat loss. Visitors can experience a safari-like atmosphere, observing giraffes, white rhinoceroses, zebras, various antelopes, monkeys, and other animals in their natural habitat. The reserve also features baobab trees, acacia groves, and traditional Serer burial mounds, offering a blend of wildlife viewing and cultural exploration.

On this particular visit, we came across a python snake that had captured and was feasting on a small antelope.
